Know What You're Selling, to Sell What You're Branding: Mellissa Tong

Know What You're Selling, to Sell What You're Branding: Mellissa Tong

This episode reunites me with my friend and client, Mellissa Tong, a three-time #1 Best Selling Author on Amazon, Award-winning Storyteller, and Founder/CCO of a Creative Marketing and Content Production Company, DuckPunk Productions, Inc. Mellissa is direct, engaged, modest, and knows what's up - which is why global brands like Westin, McDonald's, Old Navy and more heed her advice. Pay heed, dear listener, especially if you're a professional, and entrepreneur, a thought leader, or a person trying to navigate the rapid-fire realities of today's world (Mellissa is also a former journalist).

Key Takeaways:

  • "The way it's always been" is not always the way to go.
  • If you're lying, the person you're lying to may not know. But someone will.
  • Consumers consider who they're giving their money too - bigger isn't necessarily better, but a bigger MISSION is better.

At DuckPunk, Ms. Tong works with businesses to build their brand, drive sales and win more customers. Her work includes branding and marketing, storytelling training, TV commercials and branded content. Some of her clients have seen sales increase up to 400%.

Her previous clients are Westin, McDonald's, Old Navy, Nissan, Verizon, Wells Fargo, CBS, California Department of Health, just to name a few. Awards she won include Clio, Addy, Telly, Best of Business in Video Production for nine consecutive years starting 2012, and a dozen more from film festivals across the country. Celebrities she’s worked with include Shaquille O’Neal, Bryan Cranston, Keke Palmer, Arsenial Hall, to name a few.
